Mawnan Old Cornwall Society

From Mead to Champagne – The History of Cornish Wines

What could be a better way to celebrate the end of this seasons talks, together with our affiliation with the Old Cornwall Society, than to imbibe a glass or two of real Cornish wines whilst learning about their history.

For the past twenty five years, Rosie Bainbridge has developed her skills as a wine expert, training in the Bordeaux and then working for several large wine companies. Today, Rosie writes for “Derbyshire Life” and lectures on wine appreciation for the Wine and Spirit Educational Trust.

Why Cornish wines? Rosie says “ they are light and full of flavour and compete with the finest of French wines”

So if you want to know the difference between the “ullage”, “aftertaste” or a “corked wine”, why not come along and find out more at Mawnan Memorial Hall,

7.30 pm on Monday June the 9th.

All welcome, friends and members, entrance £5 to include wine samples and nibbles.

All indoor meetings are held at the Mawnan Memorial Hall at 7-30pm.

The annual subscription is £; visitors £ each meeting.

All are welcome so why not come and join us. All talks are followed by a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.
