JOURNAL OF THE OLD CORNWALL SOCIETIES The Journal is published twice a year and goes out to Cornish men and women in every continent of the world, forming a link between them and those at home as well as being a common link to all Old Cornwall societies, every member of which is a potential contributor to its pages. It consists wholly of the unpaid contributions of those who support Old Cornwall interests and is issued at a price that just covers expenses. Its original articles, chosen for their well-informed material, are not "highbrow", and also included are shorter notes on Old Cornwall subjects, reprints of rare old items of interest, folk- songs and music, photographs, book reviews and news from societies. Its strongest claim to attention is, however, that it prints matter which could not be considered by a magazine run for profit and catering to the general public. The Hon. Editor always welcomes fresh contributions and articles should be of not more than 3,000 words and preferred subjects will reveal fresh or previously unpublished information. If possible, provide two or three relevant photographs, using good clear images. Maps are often essential to the understanding of places not necessarily known to the readers. They should be well-drawn and suitable for reduction without loss of clarity. Society News and most Book Reviews should be limited to about 350 - 500 words. Obituaries should be of similar length and highlight the subjects involvement with or significance to the promotion of things Cornish and Old Cornwall in particular, rather than good works in general. Contributions may be submitted as a MSWord document without formatting to include pictures, text boxes etc. In all cases please do not submit items identical to those contributed to other journals, magazines or newspapers - there are Copyright implications and there is little value in twice-yearly Old Cornwall publishing material which has appeared elsewhere, perhaps months previously. Target dates for last submissions for the next issue as follows:- * For the Autumn issue July 31st. * For the Spring issue December 31st. Please send your contributions by e-mail to:- knight at wingfield5.fsnet.co.uk (replace at with @) There
