LONDON - Kernow in the City After two successful years at the ICA, London’s celebration of Cornish music and art Kernow In The City returns on 10th March for its third year, in a new home – the Rich Mix arts venue in Shoreditch. Port Eliot favourites Murray Lachlan Young, Louis Eliot & The Embers (above) and The Loose Salute are joined by fresh Cornish talent Rosie Vanier, Crowns and indie-folk troubadour Ruarri Joseph. There will also be a film showcase, a chance to learn to speak Cornish and contributions from visual artists – plus proper Cornish pasties and the region’s finest ale. The perfect way to celebrate St Piran’s Day. Tickets £10 in advance from Rich Mix / 020 7613 7498 or £12 on the door. And if you want to grab a taste of Louis Eliot & The Embers‘ rip-roaring hoe-down good times before heading to the show at Rich Mix, you can download their track ‘Runaway Night.’ Former frontman of Kinky Machine and Rialto, Louis and his brilliant band The Embers serve up a “winning blend of rustic charm and urban cool…a savvy pop brain with the lyrical articulacy of a Costello or a Weller” (Uncut). |

PIRANS DAY IN BODMIN
ST
PIRANS DAY IN BODMIN
Bodmin Lion Kevin Marshall who chairs the committee which has been
organising Bodmin's 2012 St Piran's Day said: “Once again Bodmin
will be the only place to be on St Piran's Day. What makes Bodmin so
special is that we base our day around our children who are the
future of Cornwall. Their enthusiasm is infectious bringing
Cornwall's traditions alive in a unique way not seen anywhere else.
My committee is delighted that Cornwall's new Lord Lieutenant has
chosen to come to Bodmin on Cornwall's most special day.” Col Edward Bolitho, Lord
Lieutenant of Cornwall |
